William W. Zarr joined Robles, Rael & Anaya in December of 2018 following retirement from the City of Albuquerque Legal Department, where he was a managing attorney for the Municipal Affairs Division.

Prior to joining the City Attorney’s office in 2016, Mr. Zarr served as the City Attorney for Roswell, New Mexico from 2014-2016. Before taking that position, he was a Senior Trial Attorney in the Violent Crimes Division and worked for the Second Judicial District Attorney’s Office for 12 years.  Mr. Zarr also served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Santa Fe and as an Assistant County Attorney for Los Alamos County. Before coming to New Mexico in 1997, he served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Niagara Falls, New York for 14 years.  As secretary of the City Charter Commission, he helped in the development of a strong mayor form of government which was adopted by the voters of Niagara Falls in 1985. He was also a member of the Local Government Law Specialty Committee, from its inception to 2010. He was President of the Attorney’s Association of the New Mexico Municipal League in 2017.

Mr. Zarr received a Bachelor of Arts degree (summa cum laude, 1977, Phi Beta Kappa) in History and Classical Languages, and a Juris Doctor degree (1980) from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He was admitted to practice in New York State in 1981 and in New Mexico in 1997.
