Mailene Ramos
Associate
Mailene Ramos joined Robles, Rael & Anaya, P.C. as an associate attorney in 2025, with a focus on environmental law, climate policy, renewable energy regulation, and land-use regulation. Mrs. Ramos was born and raised in Bronx, New York, and attended Fordham University, where she earned a degree in Political Science. Before attending law school, Mrs. Ramos built a substantial professional career at Fordham University, serving as director of academic records. While her position at the university was administrative in nature, it also served as her entry point into public interest work. It provided opportunities to volunteer with law school centers and social justice initiatives, frequently assisting with housing-related matters, language access, and other services for community members in need.
After working at the university for eight years, Mrs. Ramos attended Fordham University School of Law, where she quickly gravitated toward public-interest and community-focused work. She volunteered extensively with the Feerick Center for Social Justice, including on the Excluded Workers Fund project during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she assisted undocumented and off-the-books workers who had been carved out of federal relief programs. In that role, she helped gather substitute documentation, communicated with employers and state agencies, and worked to ensure that clients could demonstrate eligibility for much-needed financial support.
She also participated in the Community Economic Development Clinic, where she helped small businesses and nonprofit organizations that served their local communities formally incorporate and navigate entity formation. Her clinic work combined her longstanding interest in corporate forms and real estate with her public-interest orientation, allowing her to support community organizations seeking to become stable, recognized entities. In recognition of her extensive public service, she received the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award from Fordham University School of Law.
Following graduation, Mrs. Ramos continued her commitment to marginalized communities through independent contract work with Caminos al Éxito, a nonprofit organization based in upstate New York. As an attorney for the organization, she works on Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) matters for a group of teen clients, collaborating closely with their families and with experienced immigration practitioners.
After being admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico, Mrs. Ramos joined Robles, Rael & Anaya, P.C., while continuing her work with Caminos al Éxito.
Outside of her legal practice, Mrs. Ramos is deeply committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable living. A proud Nuyorican, certified diver, and avid traveler, she loves exploring new cultures, food, and landscapes. She now makes her home in New Mexico with her husband and their young son, and she draws daily inspiration from her close-knit Puerto Rican family, who remain her strongest supporters and the foundation of her work in service to others.
